The first thing we did when we purchased an Rv was buy an extra water pump. We have yet to use it, but we are glad to know it is there if needed

Thank you for the hands-on videos! We’ve had our 1172 for 3 years and love it, but learned quickly that you have to be able and willing to do most repairs and maintenance yourself. Question - you bought the 96” cable on the valve you replaced, how much slack did that leave you? How short do you think you could have gotten away with? I would like to avoid loops in the cable as much as possible. Best

I worked underneath my 2005 Lance 981 to fix some broken frame welds several years ago. The main difference that I notice is that Lance seems to be doing a much better job of using insolating materials in your unit.

Nice access! Most waterpumps you can just buy a new inexpensive head. Why didn't you just adjust the cable or snip 3/8" off the sheathing kinda thing - now you've got a spare :)

Great job on the gray tank valve replacement! Seeing you guys tackle that wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected. Last year we were on a month long trip in our 1172 from Texas to the west coast and our water pump went out. When Carol ordered one to be shipped ahead to our friend’s house she said those water pumps are cheaper if we ordered two. That kind of told all we needed to know about the reliability. 😜 As soon as we got there we quickly replaced it. We’ve been using the twist on valve as well for the same reasons and it also makes attachment of the sewer hose a little easier. Thanks for sharing your how to video!

Good job! Yeah, I had to work on my black tank valve soon after I got my used camper. It just needed cleaned up, butt I had trouble with getting the seals in right because it was so tight. I had to cut a section of pipe out and put in a coupler in order to get enough room to put it back together. It wasn't very stinky because it was dry and yes I used my bare hands.

Great video. Was always curious what the camper looks like with the bottom panel removed. I live full time in my 2012 Lance 992 that I purchased new. Like you I had to replace the water pump after about 6 years. 2 years ago the Coleman Mach A/C finally died so replaced with a RecPro Belaire 3400 13.5K heat pump A/C. Wow. So much quieter and more efficient. No issues with the tank valves so far but I also carry a spare Valterra twist on gate valve just in case. I too am very happy with my Lance. For a truck camper that is lived in full time and parked out in the south Florida sun it amazes me how well it has held up. Thanks so much for sharing!

Always love your videos. Our Lance was totalled by a tree so we no longer have a TC. I sure miss it! 5he good news is that we just bought a Renegade so we will be camping again soon.

You made my day!!! Always wanted to see a fairly new Lance 1172 with the bottom removed. Something truck campers have over any other camper out there. You can easily gain access to the underneath and put it at a height that makes it easier to work on, however you all are restricted because of your ceiling height in your garage. It’s still much easier than a regular camper. Thanks so much for sharing this task!!!!!

I have a 40ft 5th wheel just did this be ready to spend the entire day. He’s doing the roof but he has a gel coat roof completely different than a RV roof that has a membrane not fiber glass!

I wish it had a dry bathroom. I need to set up my bathroom and leave it, not pack it away every day.
